You might think they did it to travel. But that’s not true, they were much more practical. To be honest, the Californian couple wanted to get married, and living in Los Angeles isn’t the cheapest.

So they found a solution. Instead of living in their own apartments (the monthly rent was about $4,500), they bought a school bus for $7,500.

They quickly found that while they were very confident and capable of converting the bus into a house.

Although the bus itself cost $7,500, after repairs the cost increased to about $50,000.

The house has all the essentials that could be needed in a living space. The spacious living room, kitchen, pantry and children’s room, bathroom, bedroom and driver’s seat are distributed over the 27.7 square meter bus. There is also electricity and running water.

It has a living room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom and bathroom.

The interior is cozy, modern and minimalistic. The living room has a sofa, sofa chair, bookshelf and TV stand. The bedroom has space for a double bed and a bedside table. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need: sink, fridge, kitchenware and a whole dining area and the bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower.

Much of the renovation work has been done by professionals but the ladies have designed everything from scratch.

The entire project cost approximately $50,000. With the average home price in the Los Angeles metropolitan area being around half a million dollars, you can imagine how much money they might have saved and even made an adventure out of!

The idea of moving to the bus came from the fact that the ladies were planning a wedding and needed to save money for housing and other necessities.
