A man changed his mind about selling an abandoned house: he discovered an interesting find in the backyard

Buying a ready-made house that someone has already lived in has its advantages. This is not only cheaper, but also gives an opportunity to find surprises from the previous owner in the building or on the territory.

Heavy rains revealed that the secret was hidden under a pile of garbage in the backyard, and John fell in love with this house thanks to his unexpected discovery!

A man bought a house to resell later, but changed his mind when he discovered a surprise inside.

American John Reynolds bought a ramshackle three-bedroom house and later decided to resell it: it sat empty for a year after the previous owner had littered his house for 20 years. During the owner’s absence, stray cats settled in the house and soon the backyard was overgrown with weeds as well.

The man decided to fix the house himself first and leave everything else for later. The back yard was always swampy and often filled with water, but John didn’t care.

One day, after bad weather, a neighbor called him. The man asked John if he had seen the condition of his pool. John replied, “I don’t know what you mean, I don’t have a pool.” And he replied, “No, there is.”

It turned out that there is a water tank on the territory, but it was just cleverly hidden. John recalled seeing the edge of the tile in the garden before, but thought it was referring to the yard or flower beds. However, after heavy rain, the pool filled with water and everything became clear.

John figured whether he lived here or sold the house, he couldn’t let that water tank fall apart. The man set about cleaning and repairing the artificial reservoir. When the walls and floor were discovered while cleaning, John expected to find cracks in them. But no, the pool was in good condition.

The repair and restoration of the hydraulic structure took 11 months and cost just over 13,000 euros. However, John estimates that the cost of building a new artificial recreational pond would be around 213 thousand euros.

A swimming pool has raised the price of the house, but John doesn’t want to sell it.

While renovating, John fell in love with this little artificial lake on his property and now he swims in it every day with his friends.
