A woman who had been renting from the same landlord for 23 years was taken aback when he gave her the property as a gift

For nearly twenty-three years, Jane has been on the hunt for a rental apartment in Melbourne, Australia. As luck would have it, she found the ideal home for her in the form of a two-bedroom residence in Melbourne’s St. Albans.

Jane is now 74 years old and retired from her job at Epping.

She was a pleasant renter who paid her rent in cash for the majority of her 23 years there. She also revamped the appearance of Perret’s garden. She treated the house and yard as if they were her very own.

In her review, Jane praised Perret as an excellent landlord. He would fix the heating and attend to any other household issues that Jane had.

When Perret needed to contact his lawyer, he called Jane. Because he intended to leave the property to Jane, he insisted that she provide the solicitor with her complete name. Due to his Parkinson’s disease, Perret needed to relocate into a nursing facility.

Those words shocked Jane beyond belief. John, who would have turned 86 in September 2020, passed away that month. Additionally, Perret gave $19.6 million to the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s nephrology division. Thankful for the doctor’s care, he had obtained a kidney transplant at the hospital.
