A guy was rearranging the furniture when he saw planks that resembled hatches on the floor

Christopher Towne visited a friend’s historic home to aid with preparations for a remodel.

Chris’s buddy has been meaning to undertake a little redecoration of the old home for a while now. As the workers started to lift the cabinet, they saw that the boards below it were giving a little flex, as if someone had formerly constructed a hatch there.

The new homeowner had no idea there was a basement in the property since he had not been notified about it by the prior tenants. The stone tunnel continued down for several meters into the gloom after the wooden cover was removed.

Using the light from the flashlight, we were able to determine that we had reached the bottom of the well. As soon as they realized there was anything at the bottom of the newly discovered stone corridor, the repair was forgotten. Only by using a very long rope was it able to reach the bottom, which was full of water.
