Maxwell is asked by Judge Amanda Holden what he does for a career, and he replies that for the last 10 years he has been busking (performing music) in the streets of Sheffield.

Maxwell, who seems nervous, says “hi” and gestures to the onlookers. How Nervous Are You? He is asked by Simon Cowell.

“Very,” he says in response. Well, you look the part, so good luck with that, Simon says. His father grins and applauds enthusiastically when the show continues after a short intermission. ‘Caruso,’ first performed by Luciano Pavarotti in 1986, begins with a few lines of dramatic piano music before Maxwell opens his lips and begins singing.

At first, his voice isn’t too loud, but his execution of the vibrato is superb. Maxwell’s voice expands and becomes more full and rich as the song progresses.

You wouldn’t guess an operatic voice was coming from him based on his casual attire of khakis, a long-sleeved shirt, and a baseball cap, yet his voice is unquestionably stunning.

At the conclusion of the performance, Simon is seen grinning as the camera pans over the cheering crowd. Maxwell, who seems both honored and relieved, gestures to the excited throng.
